Celebrating Art & Community
The Cambridge Arts Council is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to organizing, sponsoring, and supporting performances and presentations of various forms of art and to develop appreciation and understanding of the arts in our community through arts education projects.
We receive funding from the Town of Cambridge as well as contributions from area businesses and individuals. We welcome donations of time, money and expertise in our quest to enrich our community through the arts.
The Cambridge Arts Council created, sponsors and organizes The Festival of The Arts. We also sponsor or co-sponsor the following events: Smugglers’ Notch Heritage Winterfest, 4th of July Celebration, Cambridge Book Club, Contra Dances, Poetry People, Cambridge Music Festival, and miscellaneous concerts and live entertainment events.
On May 16, 2015, Silo Artist, Sarah Rutherford, submitted her final design for the proposed artwork on the silos. Subsequently, hours later, the artwork was presented at the Village of Jeffersonville Annual Meeting. The 46 village residents in attendance assessed the artwork, asked questions, and ultimately voted unanimously to approve the artwork.
